The Korovian Club Committee of Management established the Korovian Fellowship Grant in 2022 to support Korovians whose pursuits reflect Korowa’s values of courage, curiosity and integrity. In the spirit of our Latin motto Non Sine Palma Pulvere “no reward without effort” the grant supports those making a real impact through philanthropy, altruism, or social and environmental change. This year, after a record number of applications, we are proud to announce the recipients of the 2025 Korovian Fellowship Grant: Dr Susie Lachal and Dr Lisa Hindson, both from the Class of 1979 and like so many Korovians, lifelong friends.Susie has dedicated much of her career to advancing education and equity in Cambodia. As Executive Director of Teachers Across Borders (TAB) Australia for 16 years, she led programs that equipped Cambodian teachers with vital skills and resources. Recognising that education depends on basic needs, she co-founded the Running Water Project, which provides schools with toilets, handwashing stations, and menstrual health kits. Lisa has been a passionate advocate for Susie’s endeavours. With the support of the Korovian Fellowship Grant, Susie and Lisa will take this work further by building more functioning toilets for students. For many, especially girls, access to safe sanitation is the key to staying in school. By addressing this fundamental need, these Korovians are improving health, restoring dignity, and ensuring more young people can learn with confidence and shape their futures.
