The Korowa Ceramic Art Prize and Exhibition is a much-anticipated annual event celebrating contemporary ceramic practice in Australia. Bringing together emerging and established artists, the exhibition transforms Korowa into a vibrant gallery space where creativity, craftsmanship and community meet.
Proceeds from artwork sales support learning opportunities for Korowa students, ensuring the arts continue to thrive both within the school and beyond its gates.

Korowa Ceramic Art Prize
The Korowa Ceramic Art Prize and Exhibition welcomes submissions from emerging and established ceramic artists across Australia and internationally. The exhibition celebrates the diversity of contemporary ceramic practice, from sculptural works to functional forms and wall-mounted pieces.
All shortlisted artworks are exhibited at Korowa and available for sale during the exhibition weekend, with proceeds supporting creative opportunities for Korowa students. The prize is non-acquisitive, and artworks remain the property of the artist.
Artists may submit up to three original ceramic works completed within the past two years. A selection panel curates the exhibition to reflect a broad range of techniques, ideas and approaches to ceramic practice.

Exhibition & Prize
Shortlisted artworks are exhibited at Korowa Anglican Girls’ School and judged by a guest artist or curator. The exhibition brings together collectors, artists, students and the wider community to celebrate contemporary ceramic practice. Proceeds from artwork sales support creative learning opportunities for Korowa students.
Opening Night
Guests will be invited to join the artists, collectors and the Korowa community for the exhibition opening. Guests enjoy first access to purchase artworks while celebrating the creativity of ceramic artists from across Australia and beyond.

- Entries open: Friday 1 January, 2026
- Entries close: Friday 14 March, 2026
- Artist selections announced: Friday 20 March, 2026
- Artwork drop-off: Saturday 18 April, 2026 (10am - 5pm)
- Collection of unsold works: Monday 4 May, 2026 (12pm - 7pm); and Tuesday 5 May (10am - 5pm)
For guests
- Opening night: Friday 1 May, 2026 (7pm - 9pm)
- Exhibition open: Saturday 2 May - Sunday 3 May, 2026 (10am - 4pm)
Entry guidelines
Artists, please read these guidelines, and the terms and conditions, carefully before submitting your entry. You may submit up to three artworks.
Submission fees
You may submit up to three artworks by completing the application form and paying a $30 non-refundable entry fee for each entry.
Secondary student entries are a $10 non-refundable entry fee for each entry.
Artwork guidelines
The Korowa Ceramic Art Prize and Exhibition will accept submissions of original ceramic artworks, completed in the past two years in the following formats.
Two-dimensional wall mounted artworks
• not exceed 80cm in height or width, including frame.
• be able to be mounted on a wall hanging system.
Ceramic sculptural and functional objects
• be freestanding, non-site-specific three-dimensional objects.
• not exceed 80cm in any dimension.
• have a stable base.
Polymer clay works will not be accepted, and the ceramic artwork must be at least 80 percent ceramic.
Exhibition & sale
All selected artworks will be exhibited and available for sale at Korowa Anglican Girls’ School from Friday 1 May – Sunday 3 May 2026. The Ceramic Art Prizes will be awarded by a guest judge at the Gala Night. All shortlisted artists are warmly invited to attend the event (and receive one complimentary ticket).
All artworks must be available for sale for the full exhibition period. The organisers will retain 30% of the nominated sale price for any works sold at the exhibition.
The Artist agrees to make all shortlisted artworks available for sale for the duration of the exhibition.
Prizes
The Inaugural Korowa Ceramic Art Prize and Exhibition 2026 is offering three non-acquisitive prizes:
- The Korowa Ceramic Art Prize for Sculptural Ceramics: $2500
- The Korowa Ceramic Art Prize for Functional Ceramics: $1500
- The Korowa Ceramic Art Prize for Secondary Student Ceramics: $500
Full terms and conditions
- The Korowa Art Department is responsible for the management of the Korowa Ceramic Art Prize and Exhibition. The Artist enters into an agreement with the Korowa Anglican Girl’s School with regards to all the terms and conditions outlined below and for all purposes associated with the Korowa Art Prize and Exhibition and sale of artwork.
- Entry is open to Australian and International artists aged 18 years and above. The student prize is open to current secondary students.
- Artwork must be an original artwork.
- The Artist cannot submit an artwork if it has been submitted previously.
- The Artist agrees to make available for sale all submitted works for the full exhibition period.
- The decision of the appointed judge shall be final.
- A 30% commission fee will be retained from the sale price for any artwork sold as a result of the exhibition.
- The Korowa Art Department reserves the right, at its absolute and sole discretion, to reject, at any time, any artwork submitted by an Artist to the Korowa Ceramic Art Prize.
- The Artist grants the right to reproduce their artwork and biographical material, by any means, in any media, for promotional purposes of the Korowa Art Prize and Exhibition. The Artist will be properly acknowledged in such promotional material.
- Artwork must be professionally presented for hanging and display.
- The Artist is responsible for the transport of their artwork to and from Korowa Anglican Girls’ School on the artwork delivery and collection dates. This includes freight and transport costs (including insurance) in both directions.
- Artwork delivered must be securely wrapped and clearly labelled. The same wrapping will be used to wrap artwork upon collection.
- We will take all reasonable care when handling artworks.
- The Artist agrees that Korowa Anglican Girl’s School is not responsible for loss, theft or damage whatsoever to the entered artwork from delivery of the artwork until collection by the Artist, or their representative, or purchaser.
- Where an Artist or Korowa Girl’s School is unable to perform its obligations under any terms and conditions because of acts of God, strikes, equipment issues, damage or other causes reasonably beyond their control, they shall not be liable to the other for any damages resulting from the failure to perform such obligations.
- If the Korowa Ceramic Art Prize and Exhibition is cancelled for any reason, the Artists will be refunded the $30.00 entry fee.
- The prize is non acquisitive.
