USA Arts Tour 2025

share

In late 2025 a group of Korowa students travelled across the United States with Head of Visual Arts Sally Walk and Senior School Teacher Jess Robinson, immersing themselves in a USA Arts Tour for students that brought creativity to life in some of the world’s most influential cultural cities.

From the winter sparkle of New York City to the relaxed energy of Los Angeles, this USA arts tour for students offered rich exposure to visual art, music, theatre, and creative industries, experienced where they happen and with the people who shape them.

New York City: art, music, and theatre at every turn

The tour began in a snow dusted New York City, where festive streets set the scene for days of discovery. Students explored world class collections at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, engaging with centuries of artistic expression across cultures, movements, and mediums.

Industry insight took centre stage through conversations with creative professionals, including Jeremy Stolle from The Phantom of the Opera and Dan Manjovi, songwriter of Something’s Coming My Way from Precious. These moments offered students a rare and inspiring glimpse into the realities of creative careers at an international level.

The group experienced the precision and spectacle of the Rockettes Christmas Spectacular at Radio City Music Hall, admired the iconic architecture of the New York Public Library, explored Brooklyn, and braved the cold on a ferry to Staten Island, waving to the Statue of Liberty as it passed by.

Los Angeles: creativity behind the scenes

From New York, the tour moved west to Los Angeles, where contemporary creativity and screen culture came into focus. Students visited the Grammy Museum, explored the world of film and performance through hands on workshops, and stepped inside The Broad, a leading contemporary art museum known for bold, thought provoking works.

A behind the scenes visit to Warner Bros. Studio offered insight into one of the world’s most famous production lots, complete with a photo on the iconic Friends couch. The tour concluded in Santa Monica, where sunshine and ocean air replaced winter layers, providing time to reflect on a journey shaped by curiosity, creativity, and connection.

Learning that stays with you

This USA Arts Tour for our students gave Korowa students the opportunity to experience art, performance, and creative industries at full scale and in real time. More than a travel experience, it showed what’s possible when learning unfolds through real experiences and shared moments.
