Learning: Years 9 - 12

The Senior School at Korowa is a time of further transition, with increasing choice and flexibility in subject offerings. The range of personal development experiences aimed at building the girls' wellbeing, confidence and resilience continues as they move towards the final years of schooling.

Senior School Programs

Year 9 is an exciting time, marking your daughter’s first
step into the Senior years. At Korowa, girls are able
to assert their independence, test their limits and find
their place in the world. The Korowa Year 9 Program is
designed to offer students a breadth of opportunities to
cultivate their sense of self, responsibility and confidence.

Throughout the year, students explore a range of concepts
that impact the lives of contemporary young women.
They are challenged to consider their own attitudes and
behaviours. Relationships are especially important in Year
9 and we actively work to foster positive and inclusive
connections with peers and staff.

The highlight of the Year 9 Program is our suite of hands-on learning activities. Each term, students undertake a different
experience, designed to broaden their world view and
strengthen their understanding of themselves.

The Year 10 Program provides breadth across Core subjects and choice in Electives. The program provides an appropriate foundation and preparation for the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE). It is structured to provide a broad basis for Year 11 entry by including in Year 10 all key learning areas in the core and elective studies. Year 10 also includes comprehensive Career guidance to ensure students make good choices for their VCE studies with a forward looking focus to their developing tertiary study plans.

The VCE program is designed to provide breadth of study through Units 1 and 2, and depth of study through Units 3 and 4. This will enable students to pursue entry into their preferred tertiary courses.

Students can also choose to study VET (Vocational Education and Training) programing the VCE or a University/Higher Education Enhancement study.

Curriculum Guides for each of these year groups are available here.
