Korowa is delighted to announce Dr Jennifer Bailey Smith as our new Deputy Principal, commencing in Term 2, 2024.

Dr Bailey Smith, who is currently Head of Senior School at Methodist Ladies’ College (MLC) in Kew, comes to us with over 25 years of experience in education including in significant school leadership roles. Originally from Western Australia, she has also been Deputy Principal at Perth College and Interim Principal and Head of Senior School at St Mark’s Anglican Community School.

In previous roles, Dr Bailey Smith has focussed on leading teams to produce excellence in education. She also comes to us with a particularly strong background in girls’ education. She said:

“I’m absolutely delighted to be joining Frances and the Korowa staff in the close-knit community at Korowa next year. After 25 years in education – most of them working with young women in Senior Years – I’m thrilled by the opportunity to bring my passion to the whole of the School, particularly at this exciting time as we build the foundations for the next stages in Korowa’s journey. Korowa’s progressive philosophies of education and focus on individual needs provide a climate where I’m sure that I, like our students, will flourish. I know that I’m going to enjoy forging connections with our independent and dynamic students.”

With her strong background in girls’ education and leading teams, Dr Bailey Smith will make a significant contribution to the experiences of students, families, and teachers at our school. We are confident that she will further enhance the excellence for which Korowa is known.

We are all very much looking forward to her joining our wonderful community.
