Today, Stuart Major, Chair of Korowa’s School Council announced that Korowa has secured a new campus on the Yarra River, near Herring Island and Como Park. Korowa has been selected by Wesley College to partner with them in the expansion and construction of this purpose-built facility.

“It is a very exciting time for Korowa, we commenced construction of our new Sports and Wellbeing Centre mid year and now have secured a second campus based on the Yarra River.” Stuart stated.

This new facility is a dedicated centre for Korowa students, staff and parents and will provide a real presence on the river. It will include generous storage space for all our boats and equipment as well as a large multifunctional room which can be used as a learning space for students as well as being an impressive space for school events.

Principal, Helen Carmody said “This centre provides us with some exciting opportunities to look at ways to expand our Rowing Program and our outdoor education offering as well providing a new space for existing programs such as Year 9 Urban Challenge. It will be a fabulous space for our community to come together. I would also like to thank Wesley College for making this opportunity possible.”

Ideally located on the Yarra to make best use of the river, upstream to Hawthorn, or downstream to the City and beyond, this centre is located only 10 minutes from School providing easy access for our students and coaches.

There are exciting times ahead at Korowa!
