We are delighted to announce the appointment of Frances Booth as 10th Principal of Korowa Anglican Girls’ School commencing in Term 4 2022.

Frances brings an ability to build and foster a strong sense of community with an innovative spirit, founded on a passion for education. Her leadership actively reflects a philosophy that aligns with Korowa’s own – respecting an individual’s unique identity, excellence and nurturing a culture focused on courage, respect, integrity and service.

“Korowa is one of the leading schools in Victoria and I am honoured to have the opportunity to work with young people who are self-aware, confident, and capable, and to lead a school that has a strong commitment to excellence for all, and such strong values embedded in its culture.”

Frances holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (Education, English, Media and Drama). She is also trained as a mediator and has undertaken coaching training at Sydney University.

An exceptionally skilled leader, Frances’ career spans over 25 years in day and boarding schools for girls in both Australia and the United Kingdom. Currently, Frances is the Deputy Principal of MLC School in Burwood, Sydney and prior to that the Deputy Principal at Ascham School in Edgecliff, Sydney.

A world traveller, Frances has lived in England, New Zealand, Japan, France and the USA before calling Australia home. She is excited about the move to Melbourne and is keen to experience the cultural life on offer especially Melbourne’s galleries, theatre, music, and amazing food!

As Korowa looks to the future, we are excited about working with Frances, as she leads us into the next chapter of our great School. As someone with clarity of vision, who sets high standards and has a focus on innovation, we believe Frances’ leadership will see us excel in providing a meaningful and relevant education for our students to thrive beyond the gates of Korowa.

Frances is delighted to be joining Korowa and feels proud to become a part of an exceptional school with a rich history in providing students with an outstanding education. Frances said, “it is a privilege to have been appointed to the role of Principal at Korowa and I am looking forward to getting to know the students, parents, and staff in Term 4.”

We are excited as we usher in a new chapter in the history of our School, including the opening of our Sports and Wellbeing Centre later this term.

We hope you will join us in warmly welcoming Frances to our community.
