Korowa productions are a highlight of every year.
We pride ourselves on the professional production values that are integral to the success of these experiences for our students. There are both Senior School and Junior School Musicals biannually and in the alternate year we have a Middle School production.
An opportunity for everyone to participate
There is a chance for everyone to find a place in these productions, not just as a performer, but also in the many other facets that go into making production work. Students take on the role of backstage crew moving scenery and props, organising the performers on and off the stage and ensuring the smooth running of the production. As lighting operators, they make sure that the lighting design is developed in conjunction with the director. This design is then transferred to the digital lighting board for operation on the night.
The girls also take on makeup and costume design for each of the characters in the shows. Often they make up the band or orchestra that provides the musical backing.
Smaller productions at Korowa include House Arts for Year 6 - 9 and House Chorals for the senior students. Every girl in each House takes a part in singing, dancing, acting or playing to make these nights a thrilling competition that is hotly contested.
