Korowa parents play a key role in supporting the School’s mission and goals. We actively encourage parents to become involved in the fabric of the School.

The easiest way to do this is by becoming involved in the Korowa Parents’ Association (KPA) and its activities.

In addition, parents may like to be involved in ‘Friends of’ groups which support interest areas for students and parents at the School. If parents or students have an interest in a particular area, we encourage parents to become involved in the relevant 'Friends of' group.

The 'Friends of' groups fall under the umbrella of the KPA. Please see links below.

  • Welcome to the Korowa Parents' Association. As a parent with a child at Korowa, you are automatically a member. We encourage parents and friends to be involved in whatever capacity they wish.

Our meetings are held once a term with the Annual General Meeting held in October and any interested parents are very welcome to attend. The Principal attends these meetings and reports on School activities and initiatives as well as responding to issues and questions raised by individuals at the meeting. The annual meeting schedule is circulated to all parents at the beginning of the new School year.

Our friendraising includes coffee and catch-up mornings, a Mothers' Day function, the Fathers' Day Breakfast and Grandfriends' Day.

Our fundraising includes the Mothers’ Day and Fathers’ Day Stalls and the Fathers' Day Breakfast and Raffle together with the Easter and Christmas Raffles. For more information, please contact

  • Friends of Netball is a group of interested parents who support the girls in Years 4 to 12 wishing to play netball in the local netball association. Korowa Friends of Netball is a registered club with the Waverley District Netball Association, and all games are played at WDNA on Saturdays at Ashwood.

All girls who attend Years 4 - 12 at Korowa are welcome to apply for a place in a team. Teams are organised at each year level.

Teams are formed at the beginning of each year with trials held in February for the girls in Years 7 - 12. Trials are not held for girls in Years 4 - 6. Selection trials are held for girls in Years 7-12.

The FON committee is an active group of parents who are keen to promote netball and the good sporting camaraderie associated with this popular sport. We oversee the organisation and running of teams and training, and the recruitment of coaches. The involvement of new parents is always welcomed. For more information, please contact

  • Friends of Performing Arts is a friendly group of parents who provide support for Korowa’s music and drama programs across the School.

FOPA meet four times per year on the second Tuesday of each school term at 7.30pm in the Music School. We review upcoming activities with the Heads of the Music and Drama departments and discuss how we can provide support.

FOPA members are actively involved in supporting events such as School Productions, Jazz Soiree, Senior House Chorals and House Arts.

In addition to meeting other Korowa parents, your support can be as simple as helping out with selling tickets and refreshments, providing supper and general assistance to the staff and students involved in the event.

If your daughter has an interest or involvement in the music, singing and drama programs at Korowa, then we encourage you to become a member of FOPA. Joining FOPA is easy! There is no membership fee or specific commitment required; just make contact with us by phone or email and we will add you to the mailing list and keep you informed as to what is happening within the Korowa Performing Arts community.

  • Rowing at Korowa started back in the 1990’s and has grown every year in both number of students and boats. Currently we have in excess of 60 students from Year 8 through to Year 12 in the programme which is run by a team of coaches, many of whom are Korovians, from our boatshed, located at Powerhouse on Albert Park Lake.

Rowing encourages students to become highly organised whilst gaining fitness and developing new friendships across the year levels in a strong team environment. As a rowing parent, not only will go have quality time with your daughter on the many trips to and from regattas but you will quickly get to know the other rowing families and feel part of the rowing community.

Friends of Rowing is the parent body supporting their daughters’ rowing experience at Korowa as well as supporting our coaches in their endeavours to make Korowa’s rowing team the envy of the river!

  • Friends of Snowsports is made up of highly motivated and committed parents that want to see the girls not only participate in their chosen snowsports activity but have fun and enjoy mixing with all year levels and to make new friends. We welcome new families to come and be part of this enthusiastic group of people.

FOSS foster, encourage and facilitate the widest possible level of participation in Snowsports activities to all skier types at all levels of proficiency in all year levels. We encourage family participation and the promotion of snowsports as fun and challenging pursuit for students especially beginners. The emphasis is on participation and competition (skiing and snowboarding) in a team environment culminating in the Victorian Interschool Snow Sports Championships at Mt Buller each August.

Dry land training during winter is held at school, with two on-mountain training weekends. Parental support for this team is vital for supervision, transport and accommodation. Dinners for parents and team members are held during the season making this a social, friendly group. Regular fundraising activities are undertaken.
