Why Korowa?

Korowa students consistently achieve outstanding academic results.  Virtually all of our students undertake study at tertiary level and Korowa graduates have an outstanding record of being offered places in their preferred course of study.

Korowa students develop strong independent study habits which ensure they are well placed to succeed both at school and, importantly, at university.  Our alumni include doctors and lawyers, entrepreneurs and accountants, scientists and bankers as well as musicians and mathematicians.

With approximately 700 students at primary and secondary school level, we are able to understand and nurture each individual girl.  Yet our size doesn't limit opportunity.  We offer the full range of VCE subjects enabling all girls to follow their area of academic interest.  Very able girls can accelerate their progress with University subjects also being offered.

Korowa also offers a vast array of co-curricular programs.  Many girls complement their studies with participation in these activities which broaden their friendship groups, improve socializations skills and foster cultural understanding.

The School is well resourced.  Teaching areas are energetic places where hard work is the focus, together with friendliness and warmth.  Classrooms are vibrant, spacious and well equipped.  Spaces are designed to excite students and stimulate learning. 

We believe that for girls to achieve their best, they must first feel safe and happy.  Every effort is made to ensure all girls have strong and abiding friendship groups within the School.  The high level of individual attention given to each girl is just one of the advantages of the small class sizes maintained at Korowa.  If a pastoral care problem arises, it is dealt with promptly and thoroughly. 

We recognize that international students may have particular issues requiring special consideration.  Therefore, the School provides international students with additional support through small language and learning tuition groups.

We pay the utmost attention to ensuring each of our students is safe within the School environment.  For international students, this level of care also extends to ensuring that, where homestay arrangements are in place, the girls are safe and well supported.

With students drawn from more than twenty countries, we believe it is important that each girl is valued in her own right and differences are celebrated.  This philosophy underpins all we do at Korowa.  Although we observe Anglican practices, we welcome girls of all nationalities and faiths.  Our Principal is always proud of the way our diverse community greets new girls and is equally proud of the way Korowa girls embrace the opportunities open to them.

All Korowa teachers are highly qualified and undertake continual professional development to ensure their knowledge and teaching strategies are exemplary.  They share the Principal's commitment to ensuring all Korowa students strive to be their best in everything they do - and the girls usually more than meet our expectations!  

We work closely with senior girls to ensure they select subjects appropriate to their abilities and future aspirations.  We have strong links with all Victorian universities and, rather than restricting our partnership to one tertiary institution, we assist our students to explore all courses available to them and support them to apply for their preferred courses of study.
