Swimming at Korowa

Swimming at Korowa

Swimming is an important part of the School's physical education program.  Students from Reception (four year old kindergarten)  - Year 2 participate in two week intensive swimming programs each year.  The emphasis is on water familiarization, stroke technique and safety skills.  From Year 3 onwards, students are involved in House swimming competitions and have the opportunity to represent Korowa in District and Zone competitions and carnivals.

Melbourne Vicentre

The Melbourne Vicentre Swimming Club delivers coaching, squad training and learn to swim programs to Korowa students utilizing both the School's 25m pool, as well the Club's facilities at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre (MSAC) in Albert Park.  The Club facilities at MSAC boast the best training facilities in Australia and include the outdoor 50m pool used for the 2006 Commonwealth Games.

Melbourne Vicentre also operates a public swim school at Korowa.

Melbourne Vicentre is Australia's leading swimming club. The Club finished first at the 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007 National Open Championships.
