Sport
In addition to physical education classes embedded in the curriculum, all girls have the opportunity to participate in a huge variety of sports.
At Korowa, you don't have to be the best at your sport to find a place in our teams. All girls are welcome and we have enough teams to ensure most girls are able to find a place in their area of interest.
Korowa is a member of Girls Sport Victoria (GSV) which was established in 2001 when twenty-four independent girls' schools united to form a new sporting body. The schools compete against each other in weekly and carnival sports throughout the year.

Sport at Korowa offers girls many opportunities to demonstrate leadership. In addition to the School's Sports Captain and House Captains, a captain is appointed to assist the coach in organising and motivating their team. Year 10 and 11 students are given the responsibility of coaching year 7 and 8 netball teams.
Girls in Years 11 and 12 who are reliable members of the team and demonstrate exceptional ability and commitment in training and matches are awarded Sport Colours for their respective sport. Girls in Years 7 - 10 are awarded overall Sports Colours for the year based on their participation and commitment to sport. They must be a member of a minimum of four sporting teams in one school year and meet attendance and participation criteria for matches and training.
There are a number of elite athletes enrolled at Korowa and we make every effort to support their training and competitive programs. GSV also selects athletes from the twenty four schools to represent it in a range of competitions. Representative opportunities are presented in tennis, swimming, netball and cricket. Invitations to compete at both Interstate and International levels are sought by the GSV and involvement at these levels encouraged. In addition, through the GSV, Korowa offers coaching, umpiring and scoring education opportunities for staff, parents and students of the School. Courses are conducted in partnership with State governing sport bodies. Education opportunities in diving, softball, volleyball, soccer, Australian football, cricket and surf life saving are generally available each year.
Korowa teams are highly competitive on the sporting field.
