Speech and Drama
Students at all levels at Korowa have the opportunity to take small group or individual lessons in Effective Communication and Drama after school. The course is designed to develop a student's individual communication skills and performance techniques.
The skills of oracy (reading, listening and speaking) are emphasised to enable students to develop clarity and confidence in all areas of oral communication: verse speaking, reading aloud, acting, improvisation and public speaking. Emphasis is placed on correct breathing for speech, clear enunciation and voice production. Students are encouraged to develop an appreciation of good literature and an awareness of the strength and beauty of the spoken word.
Students present their work at soirees and are also encouraged to enter various State festivals and competitions. Over the years, Korowa students have achieved success in many competitions.
Students can also choose to undertake the Trinity College, London, Drama & Effective Communication Examinations.
