School Productions
Korowa offers students the choice to be involved in a dynamic, creative, strong and active Theatre Program. Students can elect to be involved in the many facets of performance, including acting, stage management, band, graphic design, lighting, sound, costume, make-up, hair, chorus, backstage, front of house and dance.
The current Theatre Program schedule includes:
- A senior musical with a partner boys school (Years 9-12)
- A middle school musical (Years 5-8)
- A junior musical (Reception-Year 6)
- Four VCE Drama and Theatre Studies evenings showcasing senior girls studying performing arts subjects
2008: The Adventures of Mr Toad
2007: The Pyjama Game and Junkyard Band
2006: Calamity Jane
2005: Annie
In addition, the Senior House Chorals (Years 10-12) and House Arts Festival (Years 7- 9) are completely student driven with girls taking on all roles associated with staging a successful performance.
Korowa's Assembly Hall and two Drama Halls are well equipped with lighting and specialist equipment suitable for all performances. One of our Drama Halls is also fitted with a ballet bar.
Students who wish to help with lighting and sound are trained by experts in the field. Professional make-up artists also run workshops for students and staff who choose to help in this area.
The Musical Production is a popular choice of activity for Korowa students with staff and parents as well as past students who are often involved.
