Meet the Principal

Korowa's Principal, Mrs Christine Jenkins, strongly supports Independent girls' schools, which have a long tradition of excellence, catering for the needs of their students and their wider communities. Chris places importance on early childhood and primary years of schooling, in which children develop vital foundation skills and become excited about learning. She values the role of secondary schooling in broadening students' interests, developing their talents and preparing them in the wider sense for the future. A member of the Anglican Church, Chris believes that Anglican schools have a special place in our society. "They have a sense of tradition and identity which brings the community together. They develop the values of tolerance and service to others, whilst encouraging students to value and respect those of other religions and cultures in the school and in the wider community."

"Korowa is a friendly school. Our students, staff and parents enjoy being a part of this community and will welcome you too. The staff at Korowa are keen to support their students' learning and development and are dedicated to their work. Students are encouraged to strive for their personal best, whether in their academic program or in their co-curricular activities. We say that ‘without life skills, everything is academic', and this belief truly reflects Korowa's Values.

Korowa offers a broad curriculum and selects the best of current educational thinking and practice in order to enable students to flourish academically. Our curriculum and pedagogy are regularly reviewed to ensure that students are engaged with their learning and deriving the very best from our teachers. Parent and student feedback is important to us and helps to shape our programs now and into the future.

Students are encouraged to care for each other and to accept and value differences. They are challenged to accept responsibility, to act ethically and to use initiative. Korowa students, both past and present, are genuinely lovely people who use their talents and abilities productively to achieve their goals and to benefit the community.

We pride ourselves on the high caliber of our staff, the quality of programs such as those in our Middle School years, and the excellence of our resources in areas such as ICT. It is no wonder that Korowa students achieve such superb VCE results, but an education at Korowa means much more than this. I encourage you to explore our website further and to take the opportunity to visit us during the year. We look forward to welcoming you to Korowa."
