Korowa students in National History Challenge finals

Two of Korowa’s Year 7 students will be representing Victoria in the finals of the National History Challenge.

In response to the theme ‘Defining Moments’, students Tiana Clover and Jemima Senitt created a museum display of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, with accompanying editorial that highlight the historical significance of the Bridge and its role in creating a defining moment in history.

Open to all Australian students, the National History Challenge is a research-based competition that gives students a chance to be an historian through investigating their community’s past. It emphasises and rewards quality research, the use of community resources and effective presentation.

Tiana and Jemima will be one of only 20 students progressing to the State and National final, with close to 500 entries received in the first round of the Challenge. The finals will be held in Adelaide in early October.
