Korowa Anglican Girls' School

How to Enrol at Korowa

There are two options for enrolling students entering into Prep – Year 12. For students entering the Early Learning Centre only Option A is available.

Option A - Application, Offer, Enrolment

Step 1

Families complete an admissions form and are placed on a waiting list for entry. A place is not secured at this point.

Step 2

Subject to available places, Korowa offers enrolment places in the School, usually 2 years prior to the year of entry for students in Years Prep – 12 and 1 year prior to the year of entry for students in the Early Learning Centre.

Places are generally offered in the order of application date. However, where possible, preference is given to siblings, children or grandchildren of Korovians and families demonstrating a strong commitment to the School (for example, in the case of Early Learning Centre applicants, the non-refundable advance payment of the 1st term Prep fees.)

Step 3

Families complete an admissions form thereby formally enrolling at the School and securing their place (subject to an interview with the Principal or her delegate).

Option B - Enrolment

(Only available to students entering Prep – Year 12, and to re-enrolling students)

We recognize that some families would prefer to have a secure enrolment well in advance of the year of entry, rather than risk not gaining a place at a later stage. Accordingly, provided places are available, for girls entering Prep – 12 families may skip steps 1 and 2 in Option A and confirm their enrolment without having applied for a place on a waiting list and waited for an offer of enrolment from the School. Note that enrolment is subject to an interview with the Principal or her delegate.

To enrol at Korowa, please complete an admissions form.
Please note that we make every attempt to advise families on waiting lists well in advance of all places being taken.

We look forward to welcoming you to Korowa.

FAQ

Enrolment at Korowa
Enrolment at Korowa
Q: Do girls need to sit an entrance exam to gain a place at Korowa?
A: No, normally girls do not have to sit an entrance exam to gain a place at Korowa. We are a proudly non-selective school. All students are welcome, once we determine we are able to meet them at their individual point of need. Similarly, students normally remain at Korowa to complete their schooling regardless of their academic prowess.

We do ask international students to sit an AEAS test to gain an understanding of their capacity to operate within our school.
Q: If I place my daughter on the waiting list, is it possible that people who are choosing to directly enrol (without going on the waiting list) will take all the available places?
A: We monitor student enrolments quite closely. When we are nearing capacity for a particular year level, we make every effort to advise parents on the waiting list about this, enabling them to gain a secured place at that time.
Q: I am not sure which year level my daughter will start at Korowa, or when she will be ready for school. Which level should I apply for?
A: You should apply (or enrol) in the earliest year you think your daughter may start at the school. We are able to defer entry to a later stage (providing sufficient notice is given) if your circumstances change, and you can retain your place on the waiting list.
Q: What are the requirements for entry into the Early Learning Centre?
A: All students entering the Early Learning Centre must have had their 3rd birthday. This must fall on or before 30 April in their year of entry, or earlier. We are normally able to hold places for enrolled students who are not quite old enough to commence at the start of the year.

All students entering the Early Learning Centre must be fully toilet trained.
