Promoting positive body image in young people: free parent seminar
29 July 2009
With the media bombarding our children with images of perfection, parents can play a vital role to empower their children, teaching them to value their individual differences and develop healthy self-esteem.
An interactive Q&A session next Tuesday 4 August at Korowa Anglican Girls' School will equip parents with practical strategies to boost their children's confidence and self-esteem.
Speaker Dr Naomi Crafti, a university lecturer with more than 15 years' experience in the area of eating disorders and body image, will outline ways that parents can actively encourage positive body image in their children.
The seminar is aimed at parents of school children aged between eight and thirteen.
