Former Korowa student Sally Peers (Year 11 2008) is now a Wimbledon champion having won the prestigious Girls' Doubles 2009 Championship title with partner Noppawan Lertcheewakarn of Thailand. The pair upset the number two seeds Kristina Mladenovic and Silvia Njiric to capture the title in just 47 minutes and a straight sets victory of 6-1 6-1.

Born into a tennis family, Sally Peers began playing at the age of three, following in the footsteps of her mother, Elizabeth Peers, a former top tennis player. Sally is currently touring the tournament circuit in Spain and will return home at the end of July.
