Health Centre
Korowa's Health Centre is much more than a bandaid and Panadol dispensing area! It is a very comfortable well-equipped space where students and staff can come if they are unwell or have had an accident. Here, the School Nurse is available to deal with daily mishaps or to provide care and expertise if there is a more serious health concern.
There are three very comfortable beds (we're often told they are better than the one at home). Students recovering from prolonged illness are encouraged to come and rest for part of the day.
The Health Centre also has a nebuliser for the use of students with asthma - in winter and spring it is much in demand.
All Junior School students have regular vision and hearing screening tests.
Health Promotion and Disease Prevention are important aspects of the work of the school nurse. A healthy lifestyle is promoted by assisting with the planning and teaching of the personal development program in the Senior School and by individual consultation with Junior and Senior School students in regards to nutrition, exercise and the promotion of a healthy lifestyle.
Students and staff are welcome to come and discuss health issues or obtain information for projects, and lessons.
The Health Centre is open from 10.45am until 3.30pm on school days.
