Donations to the Korowa Foundation Building Fund and Korowa Foundation Library Fund are tax deductible.

Your donation to the Foundation is put to immediate use by the school in a variety of ways where it is most needed in the current year's operation.

Why do we need a Building Fund on top of our tuition fees?

Annual fees alone do not cover the real cost of a Korowa education.

By supplementing the annual building and maintenance outgoings of the school we are freeing up valuable funding in other areas.  In the future, more of the school's revenue will need to be generated by means other than tuition fees, which only cover the running of the school and do not address: capital improvements, scholarships or security against fluctuating Government funding.

In contributing  to the Korowa Foundation Building Fund or Korowa Foundation Library Fund you are helping maintain Korowa's  excellent standards of education.

Towards 2010 Appeal

The Towards 2010 Appeal has been launched to raise $1,000,000 to partially meet the costs of the recent refurbishments to the Visual Art Centre, the Senior School Library and Information Resources Centre and the VCE Centre and Theatre.

The total cost of the refurbishments is $3.5 million.

Tuition fees and government grants cover only the day-to-day operating costs of the School. Government grants do not fund the cost of buildings or new developments such as this upgrade of the North Wing.

The School has funded $2.5 million of the cost through reserves, past donations to Annual Giving, borrowings from the Korowa Foundation and bank finance. Now we must raise the balance of $1 million through donations to the Towards 2010 Appeal.

Many of the facilities in the School have been made possible by the generosity of Korowa families. We need to continue this history and tradition of generosity and philanthropy so that we have the capacity to proceed with subsequent projects.

Every member of the Korowa community will be asked to respond positively to the opportunity to make a donation to the Towards 2010 Appeal. Donations can be made on a one-off basis or spread over three or more years. Donations are tax deductible.

Please consider helping the School to provide our students with these new and vastly improved facilities and enable the students to focus on achieving their personal best.

Endowments

In keeping with the ethos of the School and the Foundation principles, the Korowa Foundation is proud to provide scholarships and bursaries to a range of students each year.

The Foundation Today

Established, in part, to provide leadership, Foundation Directors and members are actively engaged in both the School and the community as a whole.  Many participate in various school support groups, and some also serve on the Korowa Parents Association and the School Council.  All devote many hours throughout the year to the benefit of Korowa, and in this way the Foundation helps realize the school's development plans as well as providing a secure foundation upon which to plan for the future. You can contact the Korowa Foundation by phoning Sarah Brook on 9885 0336 ext. 295.

The Foundation operates quite separately from the School Council (but within its guidelines), Administration, Korowa Parents Association and other various support groups within the School.  The Korowa Foundation Board of Management, elected at the Annual General Meeting, is vested with the control and management of the Foundation and its funds.
