FO Netball

FO Netball

Friends of Netball is a group of interested parents who support the girls in Years 2 to 12 who play netball independent of school activities. FON is maintained by a committee of parents who oversee the organisation and running of teams and training.  Coaches are accredited by Netball Victoria and are selected by FON.

All girls who attend Korowa are welcome to apply for a place in a junior team (Year 2-6) or senior team (Year 7-12).  Teams from Years 2-4 play at Oakleigh Recreational Centre (ORC) after school on Wednesday; Years 5-6 play at ORC on Thursdays or Ashwood, Waverley Districts Netball Association (WDNA) on Saturday mornings; Years 7-12 play at Ashwood on Saturdays.  Other playing arrangements may be made by FON to accommodate teams at other times or venues.  In 2006 FON had 150 girls playing in 10 teams and it was an extremely successful Winter Season.

The FON committee are an active group of parents who are keen to promote netball and the good sporting camaraderie associated with this popular sport. The involvement of new parents is always welcomed.
