Student Exchanges

Truly experiencing cultural diversity is an important aspect of the Korowa curriculum.  In addition to the many and varied activities occurring in the class room, Korowa students have numerous opportunities to spend time in overseas countries.

Korowa has a sister school in Tokyo, Japan, Edogawa Girls' High School. Each year a group of students from Edogawa spends a week at Korowa early in Term 3. Korowa students are able to travel to Edogawa for a three week homestay and over the Christmas holiday period.

We also have formal program with schools in Bavaria and Bremen in Germany. A four week exchange is offered to students in Year 10 and 11 in the November/ December period to the Veit-Hoeser Gymnasium in Bogen, the St Michaels Gymnasium in Metten or the Oekunemisches Gymnasium in Bremen. The students stay with host families, attend school and participate in group excursions. There is also the option for longer exchanges. The German host sisters visit Korowa in March or July.

Korowa also has less formal links with a number of other schools in several countries, including France and New Zealand.  Overseas visits and short term exchanges are organized by the School for a variety of cultural, music or sporting purposes.

Korowa students may also take part in longer term exchange programs arranged by outside providers, subject to school approval.  Some exchanges may be for three, six or twelve months in duration, in all countries around the world.

In return, Korowa hosts students from many countries.
