Differentiation of the Curriculum

Differentiation of the Curriculum

Each student at Korowa has a unique profile as a learner.  We appreciate that, within a classroom, there are students with a range of individual strengths and weaknesses, diverse interests and previous experiences as well as different learning needs and styles.  Therefore teachers at Korowa provide multiple options and pathways for learning to occur - through the curriculum we deliver and the methods we use to deliver it.

Put simply, curriculum differentiation is based on the understanding that students learn in different ways and have different needs.  This concept underpins all aspects of teaching and learning at Korowa.

Student centred learning is fostered in our differentiated classrooms.  Korowa students have input into their own learning through opportunities to pursue individual interests within study areas and making decisions in relation to assessment options.  Our student centred approach values curiosity and initiative, and encourages students to take responsibility for their own learning.

Examples of differentiation in action at Korowa are presented in our showcase.
